OFFICIAL NOTICE: RESCHEDULING OF THE 13TH COECSA ANNUAL SCIENTIFIC CONGRESS 2026
Dear Delegates, Sponsors, Exhibitors Faculty, Partners, and Members,
The College of Ophthalmology of Eastern, Central and Southern Africa (COECSA) and the Ophthalmology Society of Uganda (OSU) wish to inform all stakeholders that the 13th COECSA Annual Scientific Congress, originally scheduled to take place in Kampala, Uganda, from 26–28 August 2026, has been rescheduled to 2–4 December 2026.
This decision was approved by the COECSA Council following consultations with public health authorities and key stakeholders in response to the ongoing Ebola Virus Disease outbreak in Uganda. The postponement is intended to safeguard the health and safety of all participants and to ensure optimal conditions for hosting a successful regional scientific meeting.
We wish to reassure all stakeholders that:
- All confirmed registrations, sponsorships, exhibition bookings, and speaking invitations will automatically remain valid for the new congress dates.
- Early Bird Registration closed on 31 May 2026.
- Revised timelines for late registration, abstract submission, and related congress activities will be communicated in due course.
- Stakeholders who are unable to participate on the revised dates may contact the COECSA Secretariat to discuss available options.
The Organising Committee remains fully committed to delivering a high-quality scientific and professional programme that advances eye health across the region. We appreciate the understanding, flexibility, and continued support of all stakeholders during this period.
